Where once I ran in younger days<br />
Of joyous song, nothing remains,<br />
Desp’rate carnies and rides decayed.<br />
But comes a child, face full and bright<br />
Laughter riding with them<br />
Smiling, I turn back to my night<br />
Unwilling to my past condemn.<br />
In nights of trouble, strife and grief<br />
Savor joy, like youth, too brief.<br />

<br />
A hunger like fire burns from inside<br><br />
While in my veins, my blood is ice<br><br />
I fear that this beast will not be denied<br />
<br />
Vermillion waves come in like a tide<br><br />
Drowning me in inhuman vice<br><br />
A hunger like fire burns from inside<br />
<br />
With deep sullen growl, glowing, red-eyed<br><br />
This hunger felt lets known it's price<br><br />
I fear that this beast will not be denied<br />

Enslaved to this passion, fuel I provide<br><br />
Gainst wish to be controlled, precise<br><br />
A hunger like fire burns from inside<br />
<br />
Vainly labored, and helplessly vied<br><br />
Strive to follow elder's advice<br><br />
